Kah Mendoza Weethee

Kah Mendoza Weethee’s artwork uses illustrations to explore the portrayal of the transgender body and to deliver ASL through their surroundings. Being deaf and transgender and a visual artist, and being proud of all three, Kah discovered a need to create something revolutionary around those three aspects. Growing up, Kah rarely saw artwork that revolved around people of color (POC), deaf and queer communities; though there is no denying that this is changing very slowly in the new world, it is changing nevertheless, and as an artist, Kah feels a duty to ensure there is ongoing increasing representation of deaf, queer POC in the art world.
