Joán Joel grew up with the likes of Cindy Sherman, Keith Haring and Frida Kahlo. In most of his work, he purposes to be seen as a freedom fighter who always challenges the audience to think outside the box. His main focus is on thought-provoking, sensitive issues such as racism, oppression, favoritism and many more. After earning a bachelor's degree from Gallaudet University in 2014, Joel moved to New York City to pursue many of his dreams. His goal is to revolutionize Deaf Pop Art and culture.
