The exhibition of La Descolonización del Arte: A Celebration of Our Raíces demonstrates that our raíces (roots) do not come from a single story, especially in the United States. Our community members’ roots flow from all over Latin America and the Caribbean and as a result, our identity, heritage, lived experience, beliefs, values, and cultural practices vary. We are all connected through our raíces and love of our cultures. We acknowledge and respect that there are several identity terms our community utilizes such as Hispanic/Latina/Latine/Latino/Latinx and the various perspectives about them.

Note for young artists who submitted their artworks in spring 2022:  if you do not see your artworks that you submitted to Dyer Arts Center, please contact us at dyerartscenter@gmail.com to receive an artwork release form for your guardian's signatures to release your artworks.
