Description

[ID: A brown-skinned paletero is standing on a sidewalk, looking at the camera, wearing grey slacks, a brown short-sleeve shirt and a green cap with an orange logo on the front; standing next to their ice cream cart patched with different ice cream brands. The metal handles hold gold bells. Behind the paletero is a large mural filled with different kinds of painted art. Mural from left to right--a farmworker in red shirt, cap and blue jeans holding a case of oranges and strawberries. Next to the farmworker is the black Aztec eagle from the United Farm Workers (UFW) flag. The last piece of art of the mural at the right is a paletero in a cowboy hat, western long-sleeve plaid shirt in brown; red pants and brown shoes; and carrying a cart that is covered with squares of drawn ice cream treats. The background is a large street painted with the different shades of the rainbow. At the right side of this street are buildings with one called “HOPE CAFE” in orange font. The street at the left near the painted paletero are several buildings that are labeled “VALUE” in peach; “MISSION” in yellow; and “Esperanza” in peach. At the center of the rainbow-colored street is a black outline of an Aztec deity with a part their head with a headdress and one hand out with bent fingers.]
