Coming Out of the Closet
Abstract
I created this artwork for the Deaf LGBTQ art challenge during the National Deaf LGBTQ Awareness Week in April 2019. It was based on the assigned word prompt: Coming Out. The comic imagery reflects this common saying in our LGBTQ communities: "coming out of the closet." The artwork was originally posted on Instagram on April 10, 2019 with a word heading on top: "The Process of Coming Out." Then for the Pride month and later National Coming Out Day, I reposted the artwork on Instagram and deleted the heading because the overall image was already self-explanatory.

In the comic style, there are four individual panels featuring a door opening, letting out a colorful rainbow. At the end, the rainbow covers the entire panel -- to reflect our pride of being queer after coming out of the closet.
