We Are Here Too

Watercolor, gouche, and ink with gesso

A surrealist type of painting of a group of individuals with contorted yellow bodies with various disabilities represented. Three of them have only one large eye each while one has no eyes at all but has a black eye patch instead. Two have two eyes each. Half of the individuals are in the dark while the other half are in a beam of light. Two have crutches, one has a white stick used by the blind, they are in the dark portion. The ones without visible disabilities but rather have mouths X’d out are in the light beam. They instead have raised hands in mid-sign.
