Abstract
A summary of the resource.
Collie and Kat, upon purchasing their ranch-style home, decided to completely remodel the kitchen. One special change they made was to commission a tile work by Ellen Mansfield above their stove. Here you see an intermingling of nature and hands affirming ASL. The kitchen is often known as the heart of the home. At the heart of Colleen and Kat’s relationship is the love for their language and culture.

Abstract
A summary of the resource.
It is about Black Men who were victimized by our society especially by oppressor and police. Even though Black Men have their hands up but there is always someone trying to hold them as if they are trying to do something to a person who is not a threat. The white light shaped image on the right reflects the light on the person... who is visibly using excessive force. The gun (ASL sign ) shows on the head ...It shows that someone trying to use the weapon to harm others but that abstract person connected to the gun is hiding behind the shadow (on left part of the image). It shows that in life Black person got killed and the person who did it was never caught or ignored. In my mind of Black person, there is an abstract sign..."Black"...with the thought of being victimized just because of their skin color. The head of black man in the picture shows that he was watching the person who brutalized him.

Abstract
A summary of the resource.
"Mother Father Deaf" - This painting by acrylic on canvas shows my De’VIA experience as a deaf parent of CODA children. Both my boys are hearing, born to deaf parents. I am raising them up making sure they know our deaf culture, community, sign language. As my exhusband is British, my boys can sign British Sign Language (BSL) and myself, I am Czech, so they know also Czech Sign Language (ČZJ). The painting expresses the parental bonding and deaf experience in the form of a bumpy reef knot, signing Mother & Father in BSL.

The acrylic painting shows two knotted arms/hands that express a bond, whilst the hands are signing letters M and F, which in BSL mean mother and father. The hands are labelled by the handwritten words „mother“ and „father“ whereas the bumpy reef knot the arms created is labelled by the handwritten word „deaf“, showing the deaf experience behind the signing. The background is dark green, and the hands are painted yellow and a bit of red, to make the contrast and shadows where needed.

Abstract
A summary of the resource.
This watercolor painting was completed during the lock down of the global pandemic and was inspired by my Zoom conversations with my two close friends. One of them signed PRISON on her forehead and wanted to capture this feeling of being entrapped in our homes and cut out from the world which was felt universally. One of the friends have one open eyes symbolizing the desperation of hope . There is another illusion of an eyes in the bare trees background reminding us the immediate viral epidemic humans grappled with.

Abstract
A summary of the resource.
The half fish and human baby has been caught with a fishing hook with a messy tangle of fishing line. The fish has tears showing emotions unseen in fish. Adult hands surrounding the baby represents control of the fate of the victim. This is parallel to the experience of many Deaf babies who may encounter a challenging life ahead with Audism or Ableism ( societal oppression, eugenics and inequality).
