Abstract
A summary of the resource.
The abstract work is a reflection of what is in people's mind (not facing the hard core truth). It has 4 abstract images from different period of time which were never portrayed in the field of deaf arts. In earliest day, we were called "Negro' as we were identified, based on our skin color and sold in slavery...as time goes by, we were called "Nigger" out of their despite and hate. As the years go by we were called colored as we were equal but separated....not long ago, we were called "Black" as the certain people with all the mixed emotions (positive and negative).

Abstract
A summary of the resource.
It is about Black Men who were victimized by our society especially by oppressor and police. Even though Black Men have their hands up but there is always someone trying to hold them as if they are trying to do something to a person who is not a threat. The white light shaped image on the right reflects the light on the person... who is visibly using excessive force. The gun (ASL sign ) shows on the head ...It shows that someone trying to use the weapon to harm others but that abstract person connected to the gun is hiding behind the shadow (on left part of the image). It shows that in life Black person got killed and the person who did it was never caught or ignored. In my mind of Black person, there is an abstract sign..."Black"...with the thought of being victimized just because of their skin color. The head of black man in the picture shows that he was watching the person who brutalized him.

Abstract

The painting show African masked person. It shows that we as Black people has been trying to cover our real identity when we go out in the mainstreamed society. It has abstract patterns around the mask and the gold hands that sign "Black Lives Matter" but there is a white spot (the hand signing "Deaf"). It portrays a question ...Is Deaf a part of Black Lives Matter?". Even though , there are many people who support Black Lives Matter. Is there any support Black Deaf Lives Matter? That question still remained after not enough Black Deaf representations in media or publication.
