New Beginnings
Abstract
This was created during Washington, DC's Cherry Blossom festival which also falls during Buddha's birthday (April 8th). The Cherry Blossom, or in Japanese - Sakura - represents renewal that comes with spring. There are 4 buds representing Buddha's Four Noble Truths and then 8 blossoms representing the eightfold path of Buddhism. The hands are signing the word "BLOOM" or "BLOSSOM".
